product spotlight - Tropic Elixir

The importance and experience with product glide for facial massage, gua sha and facial cupping.

I specialize in head, face, neck and jaw services with massage, myofascial techniques, lymphatic drainage and tool use. My long time favorite - jojoba is my go to product for these services because it is non allergenic and noncomedogenic and easy to use. I’m familiar with how much I need for body and face work.

I've been excited to incorporate Tropic Elixir into my services this month because it includes jojoba in its ingredient list, but what makes it different?

Aromatics

Take a deep breath in, and out. Aromatics are a part of the journey and experience for self care practices and in the professional experience. Aromas travel to the brains limbic system, and calming aromas activate the parasympathatic nervous system and can also promote the release of feel good neurotransmitters like seratonin. Jojoba is unscented and Elixir offers a soft grounding earthy scent from the rosehip extract, which I love.

Glide and the felt experience with massage and gua sha work

I applied jojoba to the right side of my face and neck and Elixir to the left side of my face and neck. I closed my eyes and tuned into how things felt - I spent time with slow intentional strokes to the neck and then moved up to the face and back down to the neck.

What feels different? I immediately noticed that the Elixir feels slightly thicker than jojoba and offered more resistance and connection with the glide of my hand and gua sha tool, allowing me to connect with the tissue more intentionally where jojoba feels more slick, offering a faster glide over the skin and musculature.

How about in client services, what have I loved?

Being able to use 12-20 drops in a facial focused service and have Elixir LAST through all of the work! It absorbs slowly, allowing me to stay connected and flowing through the service without having to constantly reapply more product for tool use and facial massage. This literally brought a smile to my face during a service this week because it felt so good to maintain connection with glide throughout all of the work instead of running into an area of skin where product had absorbed too quickly which makes me meet resistance in the massage stroke abruptly.

Products have always been a highlight in the services I offer for the client experience at Pure Balance. Elixir has been a wonderful addition this month for gua sha facial fusion, Thai herbal poultice facial massage, advanced head, face, neck and jaw services and lymphatic drainage facial focused services. *Elixir also includes kiwi and plum extract, pomegranate oil, moringa oil, bird of paradise flower extract, and vitamin E.
